He did it

Yea for David who finally rolled over for the first time on Sunday (3-29). He has been rolling to his side. Sunday night I went to get a drink and came back to the living room and there he was laying on his belly looking up at me with a smile on his face. I love it....

David at 4 months

He has the best smile and the cutest bald head. He still has loud cry which I recently learned that my neigbors can hear.

Mattie is finally doing it

Yea for Mattie...At 22 months she has finally figured out how to crawl. She has not mastered it and still does a lot of belly crawls but she she has finally figured how to get those little knees and hands to move. We do have to put up the child gate because she likes to scoot down the hall and into the bathroom and to the toilet-Yuck!

Yum...Mountain Dew

Not only was this the first time for Michael on a Quad but this was also his first Mountain Dew. This was about 9 in the morning. I also learned that he and the 2 other boys found the hidden stash of candy from the previous night and when my sister-in-law came downstairs around 7 they were eating it. Breakfast for the Champions!

Cabin Trip

This weekend we went up to the cabin with some other family members. There was 7 adults and 10 kids total. It was great to getaway even if it was a short trip. Friday night we stayed up to about 2am playing games. I have not had a chance to play games in a long time and I realized how much fun I have plus it was a big feast on soda and candy. On Saturday the boys went quad riding which Michael loved and he also got to go target shooting and with Dad's help he got to shoot the BB Gun.

A little fender bender

So I had a little fender bender at Wal-Mart on Wednesday. It was my fault and I felt bad about it but thank goodness it was nothing serious and the other people involved were so nice about it. I went to Wal-Mart to get 2 things I desperately needed the first was baby formula and the second was Tylenol. A long story short as I was backing out of the space I did not realize a car was behind me and I bummed into them. I had no idea that I hit them and did not even feel it. They said the same thing but the passenger realized how close I was to them so she got out and checked and sure enough there was some very minor damage to their bumper. My truck had no damage. I was so shaken up about it and could not think what to do other than I knew not to call the police because it was on private land and no crime was involved in the accident. I called Dan at work and the dispatcher broke him for a call so he could call me. In 7 years it was the first time I had asked them to break him from a call. I'm relieved that everything will work out and that we have really good insurance. I'm bummed because this is the first time I've ever had to claim anything on the insurance. I've never had a ticket or an accident. The funny thing is every time the truck stops David will start crying and of course Mattie starts as well. Needless to say I don't go to many places for this reason. Well while I was trading the insurance information the kids sat so quiet in the truck. I think the new something was going on and it was not a good time to cry. Of course after I leave Wal-Mart I'm in the drive thru at Burger King and David and Mattie started crying.

Adult Time

The other day my mom came over to watch Michael, Mattie and David for me while I went to a get together with other parents who also have a child with Down Syndrome. Before my mom came I had to run to the store and when I got home I was getting Michael out of the car seat and I told him Grandma is coming over and he looked at me and said "is it so you can have some adult time". I then realized that I was actually going to have some adult time. It was great to meet face to face with parents who also have Down Syndrome children. I can't explain it but to talk and share was a stress reliever. This past week seems like it has gone by really slow. In a week span I have had 2 Uncles pass away. One is my Uncle Ralph and my other is my Great Uncle David. I did not see Uncle David a lot since he spent most of his time in Indiana which is were the family is from. My Dad's middle name is David which came from Uncle David and my little David is named after my dad. I have had a hard time getting motivated to do anything such as clean the house. I have this great vision of cleaning from top to bottom including washing windows organizing my closet. I guess I dream to big but it bothers me I can't get it done. I will start to do something and get my groove going and then it breaks when one of the children need something. I had some down time today and I was so excited because I have a movie to watch and in 5 minutes I feel asleep. I'm thinking about sending Dan and the kids on a walk this weekend so I can get some stuff done without any interruptions.

Eating Problem

Michael will not eat his dinner or lunch. Sometimes he will do a good job but overall it is a few bites. There will be days he will not eat lunch and only a few bites of dinner. I have done the you can't leave the table until you have eaten and also the fine if you don't eat you won't get anything else later when you are hungry. Nothing seems to work. I know he is hungry because when he wakes up in the morning he wants breakfast right away because he is starving and he will eat breakfast. I feed him things that he likes and he is not a picky eater. I'm not big on the bribe thing because he thinks dinner is always followed by desert. The times I have tried it, it does not always work. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and what were your solutions to solving this problem.

Oh What A Day

Funny thing is I like to read about other people's blogs but for me to write in my own blog takes a lot to do. What a day for me. Little David has been crying all afternoon. The past week he was sleeping really good at night and this week was a little rough. Tuesday night he woke up at midnight and did not go back to sleep unitl 5 am. He did great Wednesday and last night he woke up around 11:30 and did not go back to sleep until 1:30. Then back up at 4:30 until 5:30 then up at 7. He has been awake since 7 am and finally about an hour ago fell asleep (5 pm). He has cried all afternoon for no reason. So stressful when your baby does this. I have not done a darn thing today except take care of Mattie and David. Michael played with Nate for most of the day which is nice. Dan was nice enough to grill hot dogs for lunch and pork chops for dinner before he left for work. If it was not for him, dinner would have been left over spaghetti. My mom called this morning and said that her brother had passed away. I loved my Uncle Ralph even when the times were bad and lost contact with him. I'm also excited to announce that a good friend of mine Becky Burns had her baby boy yesterday. His name is Rhett Westaway Burns. I'm so excited for her and Bob. Becky deserves this and is a wonderful mother, Becky also has a son, Garret from a previous marriage. If I could only find a babysitter so I can go and visit Becky and Rhett in the hospital. I feel like once you have 3 kids all under the age of 4 no one is up to watching your children. O-well I guess it is the price you pay for being a mother, at least I can have a fun movie night with the kids while Dan is at work so he can bring home the generic bacon.
